[OOC] Spearpoint Military Academy Map and Points of Interest

Spearpoint Campus Map

Spearpoint Coat of Arms

Spearpoint Military Academy Points of Interest

1. Town Center
Spearpoint Town proper is a community of sailors, fishers, farmers, and shepherds just south of the academy.  Since the construction of the school, additional businesses have grown in the city - restaurants, cafes, and bakeries provide students with alternative food options than the dorm cafeterias; clothes, fine goods, games, and specialty stores bring goods from all over the continent to the salty peninsula. Since the construction of the Rail-Line Station at the southern end of town, even more varieties of goods and services are available in town.

2. Stables
The academy keeps a healthy stock of horses for practical military maneuvers and sport on hand.  Students are assigned on rotation for stable upkeep and tending.

3. Gymnasiusm
Equipped with practice dummies, ranging grounds, obstacle courses, weights, and sparring rooms, the gymnasium provides everything students and staff could want to train their bodies.  The adjacent field is the site of many group games and class tactics demonstrations.

4. Library
The Melfisse Academy Library was constructed after a generous gold and tome donation from House Melfisse of Follunore.  In addition to a scriptorium on the basement and several floors of books, scrolls, and folios, the collection includes several rare books that some suspect come from the personal library of renown mage Zell Melfisse himself.

5. Dell'Nerio Dormitory
Nicknamed "The Dell" by students, Dell'Nerio is the dormitory for the lower two classes on campus (at present, Class Nine and Class Eight).  It is named for General Rendin Dell'Nerio, a personal friend of the Principal and member of the Rodanthe War Council. Both dorm buildings contain ample boarding.  Student rooms are doubles; staff rooms are singles.  A staff person is assigned to each floor as floor supervisor.  Lower floors contain steam room facilities, student run cafeterias, and common areas.

6. Castor Dormitory
Castor, named for another wealthy donor of House Castor out of Rodanthe, is the dormitory for the upper two classes on campus (at present, Class Seven and Class Six). Though equipped with the same facilities as the Dell, student rooms are connected suites with a common area, and it's widely known that the facilities of Castor are slightly nicer.

7. Armory
In addition to being the manufacturing site of all practice weaponry and armor on site, many Engineering classes also place in the Armory.  It is equipped with forges, kilns, and racks of rendered ores for selective use by students.

8. Stellan Lecture Hall
Named after the Principal himself, the majority of classes take place in the vast lecture hall.  Stairways from the first floor also lead down into the cave beneath the hall where Spearpoint's personal navy yard is available for sailing, shipwrighting, amphibious assault practice, and mock naval combat.

9. Mage Tower
Accessible by the bridge behind the Library, the Mage Tower stands on an rocky outcropping just off of the peninsula.  Due to the often volatile nature of magicks and alchemical processes, construction was made far enough away from other buildings to prevent potential fires or other cascading events.  The tower include alchemy labs, practice circle for the casting of spells, and an astral observatory in the attic.
