[OOC] Character Creation & Character Sheet

This thread provides some guidelines on character creation and character options for our game. Please see the Game Links for a direct to the author's itch.io page with the playtest rules.

Below, we'll go through a high-view character creation, and provide a blank character sheet at the end.

Character Creation

At present, we're creating Level 0 characters.  As such, we'll need to choose the following:
1 Kin Type.
1 Culture Type.
1 Bond Type.
1 Bond Power.
2 Points in one Bond specific action.
4 Extra Points to further improve actions.
No action can go avoid three currently.
Field of Study and Course Project.
Choose a Class and Job.
Choose 2 Job Abilities.

Kin Type
Kin type has no mechanical effect on play beyond flavor or narrative.  Our game takes place in a fantasy world, so the extent of kin available is limited to our imagination - animal people, insect people, humanoid people, element people, etc.  If your concept is particularly wild, check with me first so we can work together to make sure your idea fits in the world we're making.

Culture Type
Culture type, like Kin type, has no mechanical effect on play, but it does provide some guidance on how and where your character grew up, what kind of values are important to them, and how people outside that culture views them. Every kind of Kin is present in each culture to some degree.  Take a look at the Game Map, some of the brief descriptions in the World Information Thread, and the list of six cultures in the playtest rules and decide where your character might come from under what circumstances.

Bond Type, Gear, and Bond Power
Bond types are listed in the playtest rules. Each Bond comes with a list of ideals and specific rules for their Second Wind and Special Ability. Bonds each start play with their adventurer's kit, and at the beginning of an expedition they can choose to take one of the other three kits outlined.  If those are too specific, players can also choose any combination of three items from any of their listed kits as a custom kit.
Choose one Bond Power from the list in the playtest rules.

Bond Action Points
Each Bond gets an automatic 2 points into one of two specific actions.  Choose one.
Afterwards, you also get 4 additional points to spend on actions.  The game suggests spending in the following way:
1.) One point on your character's culture or background.
2.) Two points on what you think are your character's personal qualities.
3.) One point on what your character's life experience has been up until now.
As stated, no action can go above 3 right now.

Field of Study and Course Project
The Fields of Study and Course Project are gone into slightly more detail in a dedicated post on the Game Menu.
Choose one of your actions as your Field of Study.
Write a Course Project under the Ambitions section of your character sheet and assign it with a 6-step clock.

Class and Job
Once we've chosen our Bond, we need to chose our Class and Job.  There's four categories of Class, and several selections of Jobs within each Class.  These are outlined in the playtest rules.  Each Class lists Class Traits, as well as specific Max Hp/Defense/VIT/ Damage Die/Fray/Speed/Dash/Basic Attak designations. Jobs also give additional Job Traits. Once you've chosen your Class and Job, choose two Job Abilities.
