I have an example character sheet under my "character", I'm not sure if anyone else can see. I can copy and paste it to yours, if you like.

I don't have space for a character sheet under my character information. So you'll need to unlock that and then you can paste one over there. It had simply looked to me like there wasn't a character sheet in place, so I made suggestions about what an effective one but simple one might look like.

Dangit. Thought I'd enabled character sheet editing would allow players to make a character sheet. Should be set now.

Is the thought, 10 syllables for ALL abilities or for any given ability? I'm trying to get a grasp on the power level and number of abilities expected for the tone of game.

10 syllables for ALL abilities. The idea is kinda "Roll for Shoes". You start with something vague, and through your adventures you get more specific. Or you start specific and broaden.

Magnify Truth and Light.(6)
Remove Darkness.(4)

The above seems like valid power statements. At first glance they also might seem redundant but I think the fields where they diverge bare important distinction. Do you see any problem?

One more thing to consider, rolling that many dice in a Forged in the Dark system means those will rarely or ever fail, and you have 0 dice in anything else, so if you're not looking for clues or interrogating witnesses (think that's what those are for?), you'll be getting the worst of two dice. More, when rolling that many dice, you'll only get to Advance on the rare occasion where you fail. Failure makes stories interesting and drives consequences.

If you want to add a description, that'll help me. I was thinking in terms of abilities that are like "Leaping (2)". I'm by no means against abilities with https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pm...oldsLikeLotusBlossom, but for ruling whether an ability is relevant for use in a given situation and what effect it should have, I want to make sure it's clear to me.

Definitely liking the creativity and having a focused character will definitely be interesting!!

I was counting syllables in the phrases. Literally bites of sound. If we are just putting dice into amorphous skills

Light Magic (3)
Athletics (2)
Investigation (2)
Tailor (1)
Metalwork (1)
Public Relations (1)

Okay, and again, the light magic is specifically for interrogation, now? Because you have Investigation as a separate skill.

I was thinking of using it more dynamically though maybe that isn't the idea of the system. Maybe this too should be more specific and entail...

Hardlight(attack)(1)
Lightspeed(movement)(2)

That works, too. MECE design is "mutually exclusive, collectively exhaustive". I'm treating each character's ability list as if they already fulfill MECE design, so we roll with the single most relevant ability. If there really isn't one w/ a rating, it's the worst of 2 fallback. I just want to have clear guides for what's really too much of a stretch and what is a creative use of an ability.
