Lisa responds to Norla and Runt, voicing her suspicions of magical persuasion along with a her stiff resolve to see ensure her friend's safety.
Though if Lisa expected her words to change Norla's mind, it quickly becomes apparent that the other is unmoving.
"I tell you my concerns of your violent nature and you respond with veiled threats?" Norla asks, her smile thinning.
"Do you have ears to listen upon your own words? Daniel has heard your offer and has made his decision, and yet you insist that you know best? I will admit that I am not surprised by it."
Seeing that the conversation is getting nowhere, Sajaa makes to climb the canyon wall, hoping that closing the distance physically will make some difference to the mediation. Despite the weight of her equipment, the awkward crossbow strap pulling at her shoulder, and the nervous sweat on her palms, Sajaa starts to make slow, steady progress up the slope.
There appears to be a rustle of movement on the plinth above, though Norla holds out a hand at her side, and the movement ceases.
"Throw her the rope." Norla says after a moment. Within a few moments, one of the men behind her appears near the side of the outcrop, lobbing a massive coil of rope over the side, which smacks the cliff face as it tumbles down, straightening by the force of its own weight and settling just a few feet away from where Sajaa hangs.
Deciding that she will be exposed one way or the other, Sajaa grabs at the rope and quickly hand over hands her way up as she uses the toe of her boots to grab at any hold she finds available in the slope.
It is a few minutes, but eventually Sajaa pulls herself over the edge. Though she stands exposed at the edge, sixty feet above the ground, none of the soldiers attempt to take advantage of her vulnerability. Instead, the three men have pulled back, all the way to the entryway of the cave.
Sajaa takes the moment while she is catching her breath to take in as much as she can.
Norla is the most striking in the scene by far. While Sajaa could see that she was beautiful from a distance, being close to her now, she is only all the more impressed. The woman's features are flawless. Her sleek and glossy black hair falls down just below her shoulders, framing her pale complexion. Leaping out from the appearance of her wan skin, is the color of her eyes and lips, her eyes the shocking blue of ice and her lips the brilliant crimson of cherries. Though Sajaa's father had always forbidden the powders and dyes merchants would sell to accentuate facial features, Sajaa was never the less aware of them... and she is certain in an instant that Norla is a master in their use. Norla contrasts her brilliant features with simple clothing, black full body robes, and a white staff that looks more of bone than it does of wood.
At her side, Runt stands, his ever present curious and knowing expression set upon his face as he glances upwards at Sajaa. As Runt had said, he appears to be outfitted in his own things, even sporting the hilt of a knife at his waist.
Behind those two, the same three guards stand in watch, the sword still sheathed and the crossbows lowered, though they are able to be ready in an instant. The men wear leathers, their eyes shifting between Sajaa and Norla as the two women stand off.
Behind those, a few feet into the recess of the cave, Sajaa sees two more men. The nearest appears miserable at best, his arms and hands disappear behind his back and his face and shoulder are pressed into the smooth red and black walls of the entryway. He has all the look of a man who has not slept, his eyes unfocused, his meager clothes unkempt, and his body slouched.
The last one, the man behind appears as alert as the three guards, and stands close to the first that Sajaa can only see his head over the first man's slouched shoulder, though it does not appear that he is keeping that distance to be a crutch...
Norla is the first one to break the silence, her voice low and soothing, though her eyes are narrowed suspiciously.
OOC: Though Sajaa is going to be privy to more than everyone else, I'm going to keep everyone in the same thread. The rope has now been lowered down and it reaches all the way to the canyon floor where the other four still stand. It took Sajaa about two minutes to climb up to the top, which was not overly difficult, though she is a better climber than most. There has been no overt reaction from Norla's group yet.
