Though Rondald is not that far behind the others when he hits the top of the stairs, he takes them at a significantly slower pace and quickly sees the others pull away from his position.  Still, he can't help but feel like his choice was the right one as he watches Finn slip on a middle stair, tumbling down the last several feet of stone steps with a curse before pushing himself up again and racing off and out of view.

Of course, Rondald doesn't have long to feel superior as Terri darts past him, launching herself down the stairs six or seven at a time and turning her own ankle in the process.

"Shit!"

Terri shrieks, sliding forward and to the side, hitting her right side hard before tumbling down the last several steps.

"Shit."  The woman repeats, and unlike Finn, she only moves to a sitting position, pulling her right foot up under her as she drops her bow, mercifully still in tact although the arrow she had held in place is snapped in two and flung a few feet away from where her body sits.

Rondald takes the last of the steps, looking ahead into a large, rectangular room.  Ahead to the right, the wall stops in a smooth line, making an opening into another room or tunnel.  Ahead, Rondald sees Finn rushing off into another tunnel, this one narrow and ovular, looking as if it had been hastily cut out of the earth, rather than meticulously made like the other.  And indeed, there is a large pile of dirt and stone that clutters the floor ahead and to the left, and various tools for digging, picks and shovels that litter the floor ahead.

"Go on!"  Terri says, pushing herself to her feet uneasily.  "I'm fine!"

Just at the top of the stairs, Gustav's light pours over the two as the swordsman takes the top stair, making his way down leisurely.

OOC: In case anyone was confused, the blackbird, Sadda, is perched on Mika'il's shoulder.  He's about a foot and a half tall, just a bit larger than Aiah.

"You better be." Though clearly incenses that several folk had hurt themselves in the rush, he runs after the others once Terri gets to her feet, scanning the room they are running through as he goes but being careful enough to avoid the uneven floor. His certainty of a trap growing with every second Rondald is more concerned with keeping up with his friends...

Gustav moves down the stairs carefully and offers his hand silently to help Terri up. He keeps looking backward and forward for any sound or movement.

Taking a moment to ensure that Terri is alright, Rondald continues his chase, picking up his speed again to a run down the tunnel ahead.  Gustav meanwhile takes the stairs one at a time, shuffling his way down with care.

By the time he reaches the bottom, Gustav can no longer see Rondald and Terri is testing her right ankle gingerly.  "He went down there."  She points to the tunnel ahead.  "Go on.  I think I just rolled it, I'll be right behind."

OOC:  It sounds like you guys are going to continue to follow, though feel free to post other actions if you want to.  Terri is up but moving slowly.

Gustav slows to move with Terri Alone down here is a bad plan, just two of us is not a good plan

Terri seems slightly put off as Gustav stays to walk with her, speeding up her uneasy walk which makes her hobble all the more.  Gustav offers an arm, which after a show of refusal, Terri accepts which seems to speed the process up slightly.

Rondald, for his part, rushes off ahead, trusting in his keen eyesight and the fading light of Finn's own magic light to lead him on ahead.

The going proves slow and it takes several moments even to make it across the room to where to the smaller tunnel where the others ran.  Gustav has plenty of time to look around as he walks and he glances through the wide archway that branches off on the right side of the room, noting another larger room beyond with one of the massive rock guardians the group had fought just the previous day on the other side of the complex.  There are two bodies lying on the stone floor of the room as well and with the addition of the stench that becomes ever more prominent as the pair walk forward, Gustav would wager a farthing that the two were victims of the colossus before the Wazifis figured out what the monstrosity was or how it worked.

As for the tunnel itself, the presence of various digging tools, picks and shovels, awls and hammers, along with the rough hewn walls of the thing makes Gustav think that perhaps the Wazifis have spent much of the past months they have been here digging out a way beyond the colossus.

"Fiends!"  Rondald shouts from up ahead, his voice echoing back through the tunnel opening.

Terri glances out to Gustav, her eyes panicked as she takes her arm back from the swordsman.  "Go!  They need you!  I'll be right behind!"  She leans slightly against the wall of the narrow tunnel, spurring her way forward, though the slight limp keeps her movement slow.

OOC:  Sorry again for the lag.  It's been about 10 seconds since my last post.  You and Terri are standing in the mouth of the smaller tunnel.  She is limping on ahead though at a rather slow pace, using the wall as a support.  The Golem doesn't seem to notice you or move with your presence and you are not heading toward it, but around the opening into its room.

Gustav moves ahead to assist, sword and shield ready. He leaves Terri behind, but checks back when he can to ensure she is coming along and safe.
