Classic Traveller

I've been reading the rules for Classic Traveller (The Traveller Book Vol 1 from GDW, with the Blue Banner at the top and bottom).

I'm very new to Traveller and would love to play it.

Any Traveller GMs out there willing to run a game or have space for a newbie?

Also open to other versions of Traveller - classic just seemed like a nice edition.

I also would enjoy a bit of traveller. Though I may actually just run some myself. things to consider I suppose

Classic Traveller

Are you wanting something set in the original Traveller universe?  I could probably put something together set in or near the Spinward Marches.

Do you want to do characters by the Book 1 rules?  (I think I have a copy of The Traveller Book around, know I have the original little black books, MegaTraveller, and a whole raft of other stuff, but I have a fondness for using Traveller Plus for character creation.)

Jot back and let me know something.  It's been a while.

Classic Traveller

In reply to horus (msg # 3):

I'm pretty easy, to be honest. I'm not familiar with the traveller universe and I've not read any of the adventures. Exploring the Spinward Marches sounds awesome, though I'd be happy if someone rolled up a random sector.

I particularly like the retro-future vibe. As I'm reading the rulebook, I've got pictures of the original Alien and Alien: Isolation in my head (more for the 70s look and feel than the horror).

As for the books, I'm equally open to suggestion from someone who knows the system better than myself. I've got quite a few GDW books in PDF from a bundle of holding some time ago. And a couple of the Mongoose books (1st and 2nd ed core rulebooks).

I don't know that I know it any better, but I know a little, and maybe I can guess the rest?  I think I have a PDF of the Mongoose Corebooks laying around somewhere on a portable drive, but would rather run Classic with maybe a Traveller Plus character creation system (no untimely death or injury during creation as in the Classic rules...)

I'm not sure if posting a link to Traveller Plus is cricket here (might be construed as off-topic), but I could put of a note on Game Proposals, Input, and Advice concerning it (it would most definitely be on-topic there).

Okay... reading the Notice for this thread, yeah, we need to wrap this up.  I'll open a thread at GPIA and we can refine further there.
