Just to update everyone on where we stand right now on getting started, we've got a couple of backstories still in revision, but quite close to being done, and we've got one player who hasn't sent the RTJ yet but everything else is in place and ready to go for them. I have fears from almost everyone, I think I'm waiting on just one player for that.

I've only had about half of you reach out in regards to items that you see as being core to your image of the character, which is fine, that just helps me tailor rewards to you that fit your image, so if there's not something in particular that you imagine then that just leaves the doors open for you. If those who haven't sent anything yet still want to, I'll just point out again that it's not a wishlist for specific items so much as "I see the character always wielding a maul, and wearing a ring with a black stone on her right hand", that helps me give you things that match the image you have for who your character is.

I'm going to start us off in three different threads, one for each grouping based on your backstories, and then everyone will get pulled into a central thread that officially launches the game. Most have chosen to be from Faerun, so that keeps things simple. The actual transition into Barovia will take place in those individual threads, as the event that draws us into the central story.

How is everyone feeling about their backstories? Still working out some kinks, or pretty much got it all ironed out?

All good from my end.  Only have a solid connection to Ilsy, but the rest can be sorted out as we go.

Did we confirm we're all in or around Baldur's Gate in the end?

As per the DM, the Mists can draw us from any place, in any world, at any point in time.  He's also going to open things up with individual or group threads, so location isn't quite as important to the beginning of the story.

Alpha's from near Baldur's gate, but there's at least one trip up to Neverwinter in his back story.  His background makes him a bit of a "I travel for work" kind of guy, so he could run into anyone on Faerun.

If anyone's character doesn't have a connection to someone else's character in their backstory, hit me up.  Happy to build Alpha into yours...

I'll have as many starting threads as we need to get everyone into the mists to be together in Barovia, but everyone can start off as grouped or as separated as your backstories dictate.

Back story is acceptable, I'll figure out his relationship with fire as I go I think, and the way I'll flavor the spells. You have such vivid descriptions with your chars (bringing back Sakamoto is genius!), the bar has been set very high!

I think Lysandra is pretty good for her story. She had a quiet live up until her 'incident', and then she moved around for a year learning the limits of her powers (Giving her basic level 1 powers)

We've got just about everything lined out. I've decided to change something in the opening scene in Barovia, so I need to do a little work to get that fleshed out before I bring everyone together. I'm going to start making group threads tomorrow (at work if there's time, after if I have to) so that we can get things moving.
